Frequently Asked Questions

Prices will vary depending on the model, though currently you can expect to pay for the amount of material used in grams plus $2 an hour for each hour the printer is running. This covers both cost of matieral and maintenance for the printer. If you are ordering outside of the area we are located in, expect to pay shipping costs as well.

MVP asks that if you are wanting to print a model you found from a public site such as Thingiverse, that you provide a link to the page where you downloaded the STL. This is so we can check the models copyright license which will determine whether we can print the part or not. If it turns out that the model doesn't have the proper copyright, don't worry! You can always reach out to the designer and ask their permission to have it printed through a service.

The largest printer MVP has running is the Creality K1 Max, which tops out at 300mm squared in all dimensions (X,Y,&Z). Soon we should have a creality CR-10 running in conjunction with the K1 Max which is 300mm x 300mm x 400mm. Larger Prints are possible with these printers, but the models will need to be cut into smaller parts that will fit on the build plate.

As of right now we do offer shipping but only locally. All ordered prints that are being shipped will be printed in ABS filament. This is to prevent warping and damage to your part during shipment.

Currently we do not offer color selections, though we stick with the same colors fairly often. These include black and white, but feel free to ask if we have any other colors currently in stock.

Currently we offer parts printed in PLA, ABS, and PETG. The K1 Max is capable of handling more extreme filaments such as Nylon, Polycarbonate, or PA-CF. If you wish to have a part printed out of one of these more engineering grade filaments, it will cost significantly more as we don't keep these in stock at the moment.

Yes you do, in fact, we encourage you to provide your own personal 3D Model or design! With designing on the other hand, we are unable to provide that at this time due to time constraints.

Bare minimum, you can always expect a response to your order or inquiry within 48 Hours. Turnaround will largely depend on the size and complexity of your part and if there are any other orders ahead of yours. We'll do our best to let you know when you can expect your finished part!

You can expect your part to have relatively smooth layer lines, free of sharp corners or edges. Your part will also be largly free of blobs, seams or other print artifacts as well.

Not at this time, though we hope to in the near future!

Not at the moment, though this is an idea that we're toying with, we just haven't figured it out yet.
